Amami Ohshima
This island is one of the major surf trip destinations in Japan. It is located between Kyushu and Okinawa. It’s about 1 hour flight from Kagoshima. The transparent water, coral reefs and subtropical virgin forest mountains easily take surfers to another world. The breaks at the east side facing to the Pacific is the best in summer. On the other hand they at the west side facing to the East China Sea catch fine waves in winter season.
